Plant Pop
This work explores the values placed on plants in Western culture reflected in the representation of plants in pop-culture and the power of popular culture to influence those values. The work is inspired by artist Naoyuki Tsuj.

'Tree from Oz' expresses issues concerning the exploitation of plants and the demise of different plant species in the the face of mass agriculture. The work draws on the historical anthropomorphism of plants in pop culture to reflect on our relationship with plants and hints at the influence of christianity on western views towards the natural world.
